Installing Low Voltage Lighting

Here is a way to provide pleasant illumination to outdoor areas for a small amount of money. You can purchase most of the components in a kit. Some kits come with a timer or a photovoltaic sensor to turn lights on at night and off during the day. Installing low voltage lighting is a good do-it-yourself project.

Toilet Seats

Nearly all toilets usually do not have a toilet seat, but don't despair - there are many choices that can match the fashion round or elongated, and color of the toilet design. Toilets which have proprietary shapes, typically have the suitable seat.

Before you go shopping be sure to measure the rough in or the space from your wall to the middle of the toilet drain. A 12 inch rough in is standard except a few are 10 or 14 ins. Previous to installing your toilet turn off the water at the shutoff valve or at your home's shutoff valve. Flush the toilet to empty the bowl plus tank, and sponge away any left over water. Then turn off the water supply tube from the shutoff valve, drain the water from the tube into a pail, and then detach the coupling nut on the supply tube at the underside of your tank. If the hold down bolts that fasten the toilet to the floor are subsequently badly corroded that you cannot remove the nuts, soak the bolts with penetrating oil, otherwise cut them off with a hacksaw. When you install the new bowl to the floor, be extremely cautious not to over tighten the nuts for the reason that this may crack the porcelain.

    Installing a new toilet installation

1. Today we going to take out the bathroom toilet first we are going to turn off the water at the shut off valve. Flush the toilet to remove water from the tank then use a sponge to dry the rest of the water out of the tank. You will need a screw driver also a wrench to remove the tank from the toilet bowl. Which are two inside the tank. Now that you have taken the tank off we are going to remove the toilet bowl. Remove the caps one on each side of the toilet bowl there you will find nuts that holds down the toilet bowl take those off and now the toilet bowl is ready to be remove. Then rock the toilet bowl side to side to loosen the bowl. Now lift the bowl up and get it out of your way of work.

2. Take a old rag and put it in the drain pipe to keep sewer gases from going into your house. Next take a putty knife and clean the old wax seal from your flange. At this time I would change the hold down bolts for new ones.

3. Turn your new toilet bowl upside down install a new wax gasket.

4. Remove your rag from the drain pipe. Then set the toilet bowl down over the wax gasket onto the floor flange using the toilet bowl bolts as a guide to align up the bowl. Push down on the bowl until it sets flush on the floor.

5. Next tighten the flange bolts by hand then with a wrench alternate side to side do not over tight this will cause the bowl to crack. Next put the caps over the bolts to hide them.

6. Now lets install the tank. . Place the rubber tank seal onto the bowl. Place the tank over the bowl, then tighten the nuts onto the bolts. Hook up the water supply and turn on the water and check for leaks. Now your toilet is ready for you. Your new toilet installation job looks great.
